(C) Harvey
Harvey is the first collection by Piur Studio. It is a collection of handmade clay sculptures that explores the material and formal possibilities of the ceramic process through an experimental approach.
The studio aims to explore materials and their potential through experimentation.
The production method balances precise technical control with an element of unpredictability of the final result: the extraction of the piece during the second firing at high temperature, followed by the casting of a mixture of water and organic substances on the surface, that generates a layering of dark tones and an irregular texture.
These surfaces, marked by technical transformations, reveal the complexity and inherent uncertainty of the creative process. This project functions as a study of materiality as a living, responsive force, engaging directly with the conditions and transformations inherent in the manufacturing process.
